MyBytes lets you create original songs using a library of loops and sound effects. You can layer tracks, adjust volume and panning, and even download the songs you make as MP3 files. You can also publish it for use in the MyBytes community.

It is also provides a springboard for discussing intellectual property rights and various kinds of licensing with students. The students can assign levels of licensing to their clips, ranging from free to for sale and use the credits provided on the site to purchase other's clips for download.

I'm going to use it with my middle school students in our new Music Technology class this fall.
